Full, high and toned breasts are a symbol of femininity. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes, genetic factors and time can lead to skin relaxation, stretch marks and loss of volume. A breast lift (mastopexy) lifts, tones and reshapes sagging breasts, restoring harmony to the body and one's image. Where necessary, Mentor or Motiva implants can be combined to improve volume and shape.
DERMOLIFE® surgeons deliver outstanding aesthetic results thanks to in-depth expertise, advanced techniques and a particular sensitivity for beauty: the result is a high, harmonious and natural breast that enhances the décolleté.
Mastopexy is a personalised procedure that begins with an in-depth consultation: the surgeon listens to goals and expectations, evaluates skin, gland and muscles, analyses the proportions between areola and breast and checks general health (coagulation, scarring). Instructions are provided on diet, medication, alcohol and smoking, and preliminary tests are prescribed (breast ultrasound, cardiology consultation, chest X-ray, blood/urine tests). Once tests are complete, the anaesthesiologist assesses suitability and the surgeon defines the most appropriate technique.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia with sedation, avoiding general anaesthesia. The patient breathes spontaneously without intubation and recovers quickly. Intravenous sedation reduces anxiety and induces light sleep, while local anaesthesia eliminates pain in the treated area.
Dermolife applies precise protocols to guarantee excellent results and minimal scarring. Excess skin is removed, the gland repositioned and the areola reshaped. In most cases a single circular incision around the areola is used; in heavily emptied breasts a short vertical or horizontal incision hidden in the breast crease may be necessary. If indicated, Mentor or Motiva implants are inserted to improve shape and volume and any asymmetries are corrected. The procedure takes 50–90 minutes (up to 2–2.5 hours with implants or complex corrections). It is advisable to wait at least 9 months from the last breastfeeding before mastopexy; inserting an implant does not compromise future breastfeeding possibilities.
Drains are usually placed and removed the following day. Dressings occur 2–5 days later and follow-up appointments with the surgeon are always free of charge. Oedema and mild arm pain can last 1–2 weeks; sutures are removed after 7–14 days. Specific bras must be worn for approximately one month. Recovery is rapid: return to work in 3–5 days. Results are long-lasting, with lifted, strong and harmonious breasts that enhance the figure.
